What This Service Covers
Day-care surgery allows a patient to be admitted, operated on and discharged the same day for procedures that do not need an overnight stay, including many hernia, gallbladder, ENT, gynaecological and minor orthopaedic procedures.
The pathway is planned in advance: pre-anaesthetic clearance is completed before the day of surgery, and a written discharge and recovery plan is ready before the patient leaves.
This reduces hospital stay, cost and infection exposure while keeping full theatre, anaesthesia and monitoring standards in place.
