Patient Privacy and Consent

Greenview Medical Center takes reasonable measures to protect patient information and maintain confidentiality in accordance with applicable healthcare practices.

Access to patient records is restricted to authorised personnel for legitimate healthcare, administrative or legal purposes.

Patients may be requested to provide consent for consultation, diagnostic procedures, treatment, and collection and use of medical information.

Patients have the right to ask questions before providing consent.

Your medical record, including history, examination notes, investigation reports, prescriptions and discharge summaries, is treated as confidential and is accessible only to the clinicians and staff directly involved in your care, or as required by law.

Medical records are retained in physical and electronic form for the period required under applicable law and hospital policy, so that we can provide continuity of care during future visits and respond to any medico-legal or insurance requirement.

Before consultation and routine investigations, your registration and agreement to be examined is treated as implied consent. For procedures, surgery, anaesthesia, blood transfusion or any invasive intervention, our clinicians will explain the nature, risks, benefits and alternatives, and obtain your written informed consent, or that of your attendant where you are unable to consent.

You may ask questions about any procedure before signing a consent form, and you may withdraw consent for a planned, non-emergency procedure at any point before it begins.

We share clinical updates with the patient directly wherever possible. Where a patient is unable to communicate, or asks us to, we may share updates with a nominated attendant or next of kin.

For cashless treatment, we share relevant medical and billing information with your insurer or third-party administrator, with your consent, solely for processing your claim.

You may request a copy of your discharge summary, prescriptions, bills or reports from our medical records or billing desk. Identity verification is required before records are released, and a nominal charge may apply for certified copies as per hospital policy.

Clinical photographs or case details are used for teaching, training or documentation only with your specific, separate consent, and identifying information is removed wherever the purpose allows it.
