What This Service Covers
Pulmonary function testing measures how much air the lungs can hold and how quickly it moves, used to diagnose and monitor asthma and COPD, and to assess fitness before surgery.
The test involves breathing into a mouthpiece under a technician's guidance and takes about 20 to 30 minutes, with results reviewed by our pulmonologist the same visit.
Repeat testing after inhaled medication is sometimes done to check reversibility of airway narrowing.
