TMT, Stress Test

Treadmill stress testing for exertional chest pain, breathlessness and cardiovascular risk.

Overview

What This Service Covers

The treadmill test (TMT) evaluates how the heart responds to graded exercise, used for exertional chest pain, breathlessness on exertion and overall cardiovascular risk assessment.

ECG, heart rate and blood pressure are monitored continuously through the test, which is supervised throughout by a cardiologist or physician for safety.

TMT is also used to clear patients for surgery or an exercise programme, and results are explained the same visit.
