Maternity Support
Antenatal classes, lactation guidance and postnatal recovery support alongside your delivery care.
What This Service Covers
Maternity support wraps around the clinical side of pregnancy and delivery, with antenatal classes on labour, breathing and newborn care, lactation guidance from the first feed, and postnatal recovery review for both mother and baby.
A lactation counsellor visits after delivery to help with positioning and latch, and common early concerns, engorgement, cracked nipples, low supply, are addressed before they become discouraging.
Postnatal visits check wound healing, mood, contraception planning and the baby's weight gain, so the six weeks after delivery are actively supported rather than left to a single follow-up.
Consultants Supporting Maternity Support
